Carla emigrated from the USA in 1969 to sunny Australia and bred toy dogs (Chihuahuas, Pekingese and Pomeranians) for around 28 years. Her field of expertise was the hand rearing of tiny newborns. We're lucky here because Australia is the birth place of marsupials and we have access to EXACTLY the right sized teats and feeding tubes. Some babies are born at 1 oz. and have a hope in hell! If you need help or are planning a caesar and would like supplies get in touch with her small business - Pet & Wildlife Nursing Supplies. If you are a suscriber to The Pom Registry, (where she was privleged to be a Staff Writer), you are entitled to a 10% discount on any order of nursing supplies. Carla bred exotic colour Pomeranians as well as the traditional colours. The challenge was to bring the exotics up to standard and trying was totally fascinating! Every litter of Parti-colours was eagerly awaited. To watch them being born and revealing their individual colours and patterns gave her much joy. So come on in and visit. You are most welcome. Carla cannot take questions anymore but you can get lots of answers from the Smalldog Discussion List EMAIL or the Smalldog ARCHIVE - a group that Carla belonged to for many years. After all, talking with other Pom people, is a pure pleasure. |
